Some events remind us why strong communities matter. The 34th Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WOŚP) in Peterborough was one of those moments—bringing together music, generosity, friendship and a shared commitment to helping others.
At Pinwheel International, we believe that communities grow stronger when people come together around a common purpose. For more than 30 years, the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity has shown that giving back can unite generations, celebrate culture and inspire people to make a real difference.
This year's Grand Finale supported paediatric oncology and haematology, helping to fund specialist medical equipment for children receiving treatment in hospitals across Poland.
For the Polish community living abroad, WOŚP is much more than a fundraising event. It is an opportunity to reconnect with our culture, strengthen community ties and celebrate the values of solidarity, compassion and volunteering. In Peterborough, the event once again brought together families, volunteers, performers, local organisations and supporters, creating a welcoming and inclusive celebration for everyone.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, £11,326.29 was raised during the 34th Grand Finale in Peterborough. This achievement belongs to every volunteer, performer, sponsor, partner and every person who donated, attended or helped make the day possible.
The greatest success of the event wasn't only the amount raised—it was the sense of connection, kindness and belonging shared throughout the day. Events like this remind us that when communities work together, they have the power to create lasting positive change.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported this year's Grand Finale. Together, we've shown that kindness has no borders and that even far from home, we can come together to make a meaningful difference.
